Six Sentence Sunday

Happy Sunday! I participated in Six Sentence Sunday some time ago and although it is no longer an organized event, I'd like to continue with it. So...what to share? Below you'll find a passage from my upcoming book, BY FORCE. This book is not edited fully yet, so please consider this when reading. I hope you like it! Cover coming soon!

We stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity, though it was probably mere seconds. I swallowed hard as his face inched closer to mine, and I felt his stale breath on my skin, making the hairs on my head prick up. Strands of his hair fell from his braids and lightly tickled my neck and face. I closed his eyes preparing myself for what he would do next. Would he have his way with me? Would he kill me?

What do you think? Interested in finding out more? If you have six sentences you'd like to share in the comments, please do! I'd love to see what you're working on and others may too.

  1. Six sentences of my WIP, also unedited. Not as exciting as yours. : - )

The entry, or foyer, she supposed it would be called in a house this fancy, was bigger than the living room of her cottage back in Illinois, and the floor under her cheap luggage looked like marble.
The double doors on the right side of the foyer opened, and a gray-haired woman wearing an expensive-looking suit strode out, head down, examining something on a clipboard. Mandy cleared her throat, and the woman looked up with a slight frown. Her eyes travelled from Mandy’s tousled copper-colored hair, down to her Star Wars T-shirt, to her worn jeans, and ended on her Reeboks before returning approximately to the freckles sprinkled sparsely across Mandy’s nose.
“The inventory team is supposed to come in the service door. You’ll find that if you go back outside and to your right as you face the house.”

  2. Don't be silly! You have me curious about what's going on. What genre is this?
