RWA Pro

It's official! I made RWA Pro. I am super excited and am anxiously awaiting the pin that I can wear like a badge. And wear it I will: to the grocery store, to the gym, to the library, to Starbucks... Oh yeah, I'll wear it out like silver jewelry until it's good and tarnished. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating, but I guess the point was for me to convey how proud I am.

As for my WIP? I am at 48,500 words and counting. I originally intended for it to be 50,000 words but the closer I get to my goal, the more I realize my story requires more.  I could probably go another 10-15,000, and that's just the first draft. Revisions would probably fatten it up again, though I have little time to really go crazy with revisions. I basically have five weeks to finish, revise and ship it off to Texas. Will I do it?
Hell ya!

On the reading front:
Just finished the novella Off the Clock by Donna Alward (a solid 4 out of 5 starts) I think it's impossible for Donna to write something I don't enjoy. She sucks me in every single time.

I am currently reading:
Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick
Indefensible by Pam Callow

Next on my list is Color My Heart by Bev Petterson. I won her book at the last RWAC meeting and am really looking forward to reading it. Bev has an amazing voice and her writing is beautiful. Speaking of book wins, I am having a crazy year. I won Pam's book last month, Donna's a few weeks ago, as well as the book Entangled, A Paranormal Anthology by a collection of writers who are donating the proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. I have some serious reading to do so I must say adieu.

What are you reading?

  1. Hey Sara - great blog! I just finished Behemoth (the audiobook - so not quite reading but super awesome) by Scott Westerfeld. I have Goliath on order from the library so that's up next.

    Congrats on the pro!

  2. Thanks, Michelle. I've heard a lot about Scott Westerfeld's books, but I haven't read one yet. I'll have to add them to my ever growing reading list.
