School is out for the year, clinical is over, and I am officially on vacation for four weeks. Sigh. Life is good. And, I would also like to say that I am officially in my fourth and final year of nursing now! I am done of classes in February and done with school in April. I can't believe how fast the last three years have gone by. It seems like just yesterday I received my acceptance letter for nursing and from the military.
What are my plans for vacation? Hmm. I don't know. A little reading, a lot of writing, a little more reading, a lot more writing. I think you get the picture. Currently, I'm reading the first book in the Victoria Nelson series by Tanya Huff (a Halifax native) I am a huge Blood Ties fan, and this cancelled tv series is based on Tanya Huff's books. Since the series only lasted two seasons, I needed to read the books to find out how everything turns out. Unfortunately, I think I prefer the show to the books. I hate when that happens because it makes me much less inclined to read the books, and I just have to know if Victoria ends up with Henry, the vampire, in the end. So, I'll plough through them until I get what I need, although I will be awfully annoyed if the books end the way the series did.
On the writing front, I am 20,000 words into The Delicious, Magical Soul of Petra Maras, and I have started another book as well--an idea stuck in my head and I had to put it onto paper. I am about 3000 words into this novel and going strong. I am hoping to submit the latter to some writing competitions later in the year. I am also hoping to submit a novel for the Golden Heart Awards this year as well. But, we shall see how well the writing goes this summer.
